Traveling challenges me to stay committed to my healthy lifestyle while simultaneously teaching me new ways to do so. No matter where you live or where you travel, focus on eating as clean as possible 80% of the time, indulging the other 20%, and most importantly of all, having fun and finding opportunities to get moving. As the top global multicultural destination, Toronto offers an abundance of artsy coffee shops, trendy hotels, exceptional local franchises and exciting activities to experience. Check out my Pro Body Designer picks for your next amazing trip to The Six:
Eat: Healthy eating is a lifestyle, not a fad, so finding clean meals and snacks that are truly enjoyable is a must.
  • Head to Tori's Bakeshop in the Beach, where they have gooey cinnamon buns and muffins moistened with apple sauce among their delicious assortment of organic and vegan treats.
  • The historicSt. Lawrence Market on the east end of the city is always a great visit. It's often called one of the world's best markets; over 100 vendors sell everything from fresh, local produce, fish, gourmet cheeses, and specialty baked goods. Don't miss Cruda Cafe located on the lower level of the market, where they serve inventive vegan dishes including salads, burritos, and raw tacos. They also have delicious coconut power balls for an all-natural energy boost.
Sip: Toronto has you covered from caffeine to cocktails with sips that let you work hard and play hard.
  •  The Japanese-inspired Neo Coffee Bar has an irresistibly zen vibe with perfectly poured artisan coffee from Toronto's championship barista Bruce Ly. The ambiance and stellar beverages are a win-win.
  • In the city's Financial District, Drake 150 features exclusive drinks created by individual staff members, as noted on the cocktail menu. Try the Wanderlust by resident bartender Brittany Maguire with grapefruit, lemon, cucumber, mint, raspberry, seltzer, and an optional shot of vodka, gin, or tequila added.
Stay: Lodge in comfort and luxury with world-class amenities for a memorable stay.
  • The Drake is Toronto's hippest boutique hotel. Every inch of the space in this eclectic hot spot bursts with character for an engaging stay. You can hang out here from morning till the next day without ever getting bored. They even have a heated rooftop patio for the colder months.
  • At the Soho Metropolitan Hotel, I have a serious weakness for their upscale fitness centre, complete with a lap pool and steam rooms. The expansive rooms with luxurious Italian linens, floor-to-ceiling windows, and marble bathrooms with heated floors make me look forward to my stay here every time.
Explore: Sneak more exercise into your trip by walking by day and dancing the night away.
  • I make it a point to walk as much as possible while exploring Toronto. Try a downtown-discovery walk through Toronto with a free guided tour.
  • For five days every June, NXNE celebrates music with various big-name panels, screenings, parties, showcases, and installations. Extended last calls are the norm at many city-wide clubs, bars, and music venues during the landmark event. It's the premier summer music event in Toronto for bands, filmmakers, artists, and the fans that love and support their work.
Indulge: Pamper yourself with these wonderful and effective spa offerings from beginning to end.
  • Unwind at Pure+Simple, a great spa and boutique that only uses 100 percent natural products in their holistic, high-tech treatments. I tried the Lymphomaniac Facial- a combination of a traditional European facial and total body lymphatic drainage. They also use organic Ayurvedic Oils customized for your body type.
  • Recharge your batteries at :10 Minute Manicure in Toronto Pearson Internationally Airport, a chain offering nice mini-spa treatments at many airports around North America. They offer 10 and 30-minute manicures and pedicures, teeth-whitening (appointments required), and refreshing massages.
